You can store a wide range of items, including:

• Household goods: Furniture, appliances (fridges, washing machines – make sure they’re properly drained!), kitchenware, décor, books, seasonal items (holiday decorations, winter clothes), and those family heirlooms you can’t part with.
• Sports and outdoor equipment: Bikes, surfboards, camping gear, kayaks, golf clubs – keep your adventure gear safe and ready for your next outing.
• Clothing and textiles: Store seasonal clothing, extra bedding, or even that vintage dress collection in our climate-controlled units to protect them from the elements.
• Tools and equipment: DIY tools, gardening equipment, or even that workbench you don’t have space for at home.
• Documents and archives: Important files, business records, and sentimental items like photos and letters can be safely stored in our secure units.
• Retail stock: Excess inventory, promotional materials, or seasonal items can be stored to free up space in your shop or warehouse.

However, there are some items that are not permitted for safety and legal reasons:

• Perishables: Food, drinks, and anything that can rot or attract pests.
• Hazardous materials: Flammable liquids, explosives, toxic chemicals, and anything that could pose a risk to our facility and other customers.
• Illegal items: Drugs, weapons, and stolen goods are strictly prohibited.
• Live animals or plants.

Units are rented according to availability, and you’re welcome to drop by and see what’s available at the facility. We do recommend calling ahead to discuss your requirements and ensure we have a unit or units available for exactly what you need to avoid disappointment. 

Yes, you’ll need to sign a simple lease agreement with North Store Self Storage. This agreement outlines the terms and conditions of your rental, such as:

• The rental period: Our leases are typically month-to-month, providing you with flexibility.
• Payment details: This includes the rental amount, due date, and accepted payment methods.
• Unit access hours: You’ll have access to your unit during our convenient opening hours.
• Your responsibilities: This includes taking care of your unit and adhering to our facility rules.

Notice Period: We require 15 days’ notice before you vacate your unit. This allows us time to prepare the unit for the next customer.

The units have a minimum of 3m ceilings, with the 1m lockers being the exception, as they are just a metre cubed.

Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

Required Documentation:

• Copy of your ID: (For foreign nationals, please also provide a valid work or residence permit)
• Proof of account: (Bank statement or similar)
• CIPC document (if you are a business)

You can bring these documents to our North Point Ballito location or conveniently upload them via our online move-in form.

Important Information:

• Payment: We accept card payments, EFT, and SnapScan. Cash is not accepted.
• First Month’s Rent: Your first month’s rent is payable upfront.
• Insurance: All customers must have insurance for their stored belongings. You can explore affordable options on our Customer Cover page or provide proof of your own existing insurance.
• Access Control: For your security, North Store features access control. A non-refundable entry tag is required for contactless entry to the property.
• Padlocks: You’ll need a padlock to secure your unit. We have a variety of high-quality padlocks available for purchase in our reception area and online. You keep the key, so you’re always in control of your belongings.

North Store is open from 8am to 5pm from Monday to Friday, and from 8am to 1pm on the weekends.

Absolutely, we have a network of logistics partners in the area to help with delivery of goods big and small. Give us a call on 076 604 9698 to discuss your delivery requirements. 

Costs are based on unit size and in some cases the unit features, like external access. Get in touch on 076 604 9698 for a quote on the unit you need.

We don’t accept cash, but will happily accept most terms. A debit order is usually the most convenient if you’re intending to keep the unit for some time. Otherwise, an EFT is fine.

We require a one month deposit before moving in, which is returned once you vacate the unit. The only other cost is a padlock and storage boxes if you need them. We have quality options in stock.
